A Message from the President
The year 2025 reaffirms Cybereco’s role as a catalyst for cybersecurity in Quebec and Canada. In a context where cyber threats are evolving rapidly and the demands on organizations are increasing, our mission remains essential: to mobilize the ecosystem, foster collaboration, and turn shared challenges into concrete actions.
This year’s achievements are a testament to this collective strength. The growth of our network, the success of the Cyberconference, the reach of the Carrefour Cyber, the engagement of our communities of practice, and the projects led by our members all demonstrate Cybereco’s vitality and relevance.
The year 2025 will also have paved the way for key initiatives that will shape the future. In particular, Cybereco is launching a major initiative aimed at helping Quebec businesses obtain recognized cybersecurity certifications, in order to strengthen their resilience, credibility, and ability to meet market demands.
We are also working to establish a center of excellence—the first of its kind in Canada—focused on artificial intelligence applied to cybersecurity operations. This initiative will bring together expertise, accelerate knowledge transfer, and support the responsible and effective adoption of AI.
I would like to sincerely thank our members, partners, employees, the board of directors, and the Cybereco team. Your commitment is at the heart of our collective impact. Together, we will continue to build a strong, collaborative, and forward-looking cybersecurity framework.

As 2025 draws to a close, Cybereco is reaching a pivotal milestone in its development. The achievements we’ve made, the lessons we’ve learned, and the challenges we’ve faced have allowed us to take a clear-eyed look at our path forward and clarify our role within the ecosystem.
This moment comes amid a period of rapid transformation in cybersecurity. The rise of artificial intelligence is redefining both uses and threats; the defense sector is experiencing a major strategic resurgence; and advances in quantum computing are already heralding new security paradigms. In this rapidly changing landscape, the ability to anticipate, collaborate, and innovate is becoming critical.

Carrefour : A catalyst for innovation and collaboration
By 2025, Carrefour Cyber had consolidated its position as a key player in Quebec’s cybersecurity ecosystem, becoming an essential hub for collaboration, experimentation, and outreach. Building on the foundations laid over the past two years, the Carrefour has successfully transformed the project’s initial momentum into a sustainable operational model, bringing together startups, major clients, researchers, and institutional partners around a shared goal: to accelerate innovation in cybersecurity and strengthen Quebec’s digital resilience.
Virtual Conference: A Strategic Event for the Ecosystem
The 5th edition of the Cybereconference was held on April 8 and 9, 2025, at the Palais des congrès and, simultaneously, on April 9 at The Westin Montreal. It welcomed 1,650 participants from 380 organizations and 60 exhibitors . This year’s event reached new heights by offering:
- About 100 lectures and panel discussions on current cybersecurity topics
- A day of science workshops to bring together research and industry in cybersecurity
- A Day of Training for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

Today, Cybereco brings together a strategic network of nearly 100 organizations from key sectors of the Canadian economy, including natural resources, energy, manufacturing, finance, education and technology. By uniting major contractors, public institutions, innovative startups and academic players, we have built a genuine co-development space that propels cybersecurity as a lever for collective performance and resilience.
Our achievements
In 2025, Cybereco implemented transformative initiatives that strengthened the security posture of hundreds of organizations. From the redesign of the Innovation Hub to the publication of practical guides and the launch of new communities of practice, we have transformed complex needs into concrete, shared solutions.
Our impact
With over 120,000 people reached, 3,200 professionals mobilized at our events, and 7,000 downloads of our publications, Cybereco has established itself as an impact driver in the Canadian cybersecurity ecosystem. Our collaborative model has enabled SMEs, large corporations and public institutions to take key steps towards greater digital maturity.
Our influence
In 2025, Cybereco expanded its impact, notably by developing cross-sector collaborative partnerships and strengthening its digital presence. 2025 provided an opportunity to enhance Cybereco’s visibility through a website redesign and a Calendar of regular communications.
Our outlook for the future
The Cybereco team and its members are committed to strengthening the role of the association and Carrefour Cyber as catalysts for change and to increasing their impact in Quebec and across Canada. Cybereco will continue to propose collaborative initiatives and expand its network of key partners with the goal of strengthening Quebec’s cybersecurity ecosystem and expanding its reach across Canada and internationally. This involves strengthening connections, initiatives, and projects related to cybersecurity talent, as well as fostering innovation and the growth of Quebec’s cybersecurity economy. Cybereco will also take on a new role in supporting economic development for the defense sector by building lasting collaborative bridges between Quebec’s cyber innovation community and the Canadian military sector.
