Topics covered
We’ll be discussing future challenges and technologies in cryptography:
- Quantum key distribution (QKD)
- Secure quantum networks (Quantum Networking)
- Post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and crypto-agility
- Emerging threats such as “harvest-now, decrypt-later” induced by the arrival of quantum technology
Programme
- 7:30 am: Welcome & breakfast hosted by Cybereco
- 8:00 – 9:00: Expert panel moderated by Francois Borrelli, followed by a Q&A session
The host
François Borrelli – Special advisor for emerging technologies at Numana, and ambassador for the Kirq project (quantum communication testbed). Former CEO of Numana from 2019 to 2024, he continues his commitment to the organization with a strategic and advisory role in technology ecosystems .
Panelists
- Thibaud Ecarot (National Bank of Canada / Université de Sherbrooke) Cybersecurity advisor specialized in cryptography at the National Bank of Canada, and associate professor in information systems at the Université de Sherbrooke. He holds a PhD in data security, cryptography and computational intelligence applied to cybersecurity.
- Bruno Couillard (Crypto4A) CEO and co-founder of Crypto4A, where he designs crypto-agile and post-quantum cybersecurity solutions. With over 35 years’ experience in cryptography and key management, he works to secure sensitive civilian and military environments. He also sits on the board of Quantum Industry Canada, co-chairs a national working group on quantum technologies, and actively contributes to Canada’s National Quantum Strategy.
- Martin Charbonneau (Nokia) Martin leads the development and deployment of quantum-safe networks at Nokia, integrating advanced cryptographic techniques, including quantum key distribution (QKD), to protect telecommunications infrastructures against quantum threats. He works closely with industry stakeholders to promote a common understanding of post-quantum cybersecurity issues and solutions.
