The rise of artificial intelligence offers new opportunities to accelerate research, improve productivity and automate repetitive tasks. However, with these advances also come new challenges that cybersecurity professionals need to consider. For example, the “Echoleak” vulnerability showed that AI agents, such as Copilot, can be used to access information without resorting to malware or direct user interaction. The ability to hijack AI assistants as “insider threats” is helping to expand organizations’ attack surface. In this presentation, we’ll look at how the attack surface is evolving in the age of AI.
